Sip Your Choice of Reds and Whites at UpperWest Wine Bar
December 27, 2018 |
Tucked in the basement of a North Cambridge veterans club, UpperWest Wine Bar is an intimate, New York-inspired spot offering a constantly rotating selection of small plates and a full bar with a focus on whiskey, wine, beer, and Amaro (an Italian herbal liqueur). The food menu is short, but sweet; it features 10 items all under $20 that always includes a homemade pasta and themed cheese and charcuterie boards. A small plate could include white marinated anchovies with a fennel and apple salad, a simple caprese salad, or cold-smoked salmon. Olives, served warm, are also almost always on the menu.
With a capacity of just under 50, the unique wine bar features two communal tables with 10 spots each, as well as a lounge area with three sofas. In addition, the eatery hosts pop-up dinners, cooking demonstrations, and invites “guest chefs” to show off their stuff. It also holds whiskey tastings, vegetable-fermenting workshops, kombucha-making classes, and other food-related events.
