Returning to Daheny Park on July 28: The Cambridge Jazz Festival
July 10, 2019 |
Two lovers of jazz came together to create the Cambridge Jazz Festival to ensure that the community continued to cultivate its own jazz culture. Those jazz enthusiasts were Ron Savage, the chair of the Ensemble Department at the prestigious Berklee School of Music, and Larry Ward, a former Cambridge City Councilor. Using their combined expertise, they established what would become a beloved local tradition.
The Cambridge Jazz Festival will return to Danehy Park this year on Sunday, July 28th from noon to 6 p.m. Head to the park to enjoy live performances by big names in contemporary jazz, including headliners Elan Trotman, a celebrated saxophonist, and Carla Cook, a talented songstress. General admission to the festival is free, so round up a few friends to enjoy the live concerts, food trucks, and a newly unveiled jazz museum at the park.
